Summer School on Transitional Justice and the Politics of Memory

Research in Ethics and Globalisation (REG) and the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Rijeka are delighted to announce our Summer School on Transitional Justice and the Politics of Memory in the Mediterranean which will be held on the island of Cres, Croatia from 24 June to 4 July 2013. This intensive 10 day summer school will explore transitional justice and the politics of memory in the context of the Mediterranean region with a particular focus on the former Yugoslavia and the Middle East and North Africa. In addition to the summer school academic program, which will include an international panel of experts, this course will also include excursions, guest lectures from government officials, civil society activists, journalists and will mark Croatia’s expected accession to the European Union on 1 July 2013.

Summer school tuition is €2000, which covers housing, two meals per day and excursions within Croatia. Students will also receive 5 European academic ECTS credits provided by the University of Groningen.
